WIN THE DAY!

The discerning sets his face toward wisdom, but the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth.  - Proverbs 17:24

I have coached many kids who proclaimed on twitter to have 20 or more offers only to have 2-3 legit offers their senior year.  I have coached many kids who had 0 offers going into the summer of their senior year and ended up with 5-15 legit offers. The cream will always rise rather it be today or tomorrow--if you have offers/if you don't-you better be humble and work!

I don't want to misconstrue scripture.  Wisdom is pursuing Christ.  Christ is wisdom.  But there is practical worldly wisdom in this verse.  I see kids posting they have x amount of offers.  I see songs talking about getting rich.  I see kids wearing money signs.  I see and hear many men boasting they will do this and that.  Here is what I hear the Lord telling me through this verse: You fool-your eyes are set on the ends of the earth.  You lust to have everything and to glorify yourself.  God is telling us pursue wisdom.  Pursue today.  Pursue doing your best today.  Be thankful for the great things you have today.  Master your spirit and focus on being obedient, thankful and respectful.  Work hard with great humility.  Serve others and stop being consumed with yourself.  Quit talking about yourself.  Quit posting how many offers you have today. For what does that mean?  Have you done anything? Have you accomplished anything? That school that offered you, have you been great there?  Point is-Pursue wisdom.  Quit chasing the ends of the earth: money, power, fame, glory**ultimately your are chasing your glory.  Can you find the end of the earth and does it ever satisfy - nope-you will keep going in circles.  But, young man, pursue wisdom and you will find life-you will find happiness-you will find joy.  Be great today!  Focus on today!  WIN THE DAY!🏁
